Joe. That rear hold scares me bro... I'm afraid your leg is going to get caught in a bad spot and do some real damage... BE CAREFUL!!!

I'm not too worried about getting my foot stuck. I am worried about bashing shins & chins so I'm padding it up good. I'll be carefull :cool2:

AMEN....

The feeling of rocking a big re-entry and landing w/o even slowing down is tops bro.....It may be the best feeling on the water... I have put so much thought into surf riding in the last 6 months... It totally consumes me now.... Most of the guys I ride w/ do nothing but surf ride and it's so awesome to learn and watch them... I have more respect for someone who can surf the boat good, than a trick guy.... BR's may be more flashy to the untrained eye, but re-entry's..... not so simple to do the RIGHT way....

Got my Super Genius hold turfed up & rode some big chop last night. Well... Umm.. This morning I'm limping a little. :frown: You guys were right, my foot would get stuck, it twisted up my knee, wrong again:clown: Cut half of it off & mixing up a hot batch to seal it so I can ride later:Banane01:

Sorry that didn't work out for you, but al least you gave it a shot. Thats the only way to find out what really works. I think you will be very pleased with that front hold. In addition, what about a cut out(smaller than a foothold) just to stick your toes in. It couldn't be any more work than you have into the rear hold thingy. just a thought.

I didn't feel comfortable with my foot that far forward so I mounted a DaKine footstrap in the tray. Just left the padding out under the turf and spaced the strap up high enough and it works fine with JP boots. Just another option.

Right on!! Now mix the two and throw some BR & Backflip reentrys:Banane01:

I rode with what I left of that hold and it worked pretty good. Its enough to hold that I tried my first roll attempts of the year. Only got as far to get some upside down subs but I stayed in the tray. I'm looking forward to trying that front hold.
