Good deal???

2000 yamaha superjet 760 for $6000

custom paint, umi pole-2" , chin pad , bars and quick turn, 96 waveraider 760cc motor, dual powerbomb carbs 70mm-48mm, r+d intake manifold, r+d m-16 reedvalve and reeds, reed spacer, factory b-pipe w/mod chamber, worx intake grate, riva groovy ride plate, newjet dominator prop, protec drive coupler, turfing, adjustible nozzle(needs cable and lever).

seems a little high but since i'm not update on sj prices I figured I would ask the pros out here on x-h20. Custom paint is nothing special.
Was curious on how the weight of the 760 compares to the 701?
Thnanks for the help

760 more about top end than bottom end
price seems too high IMHO, especially with broken stuff (trim)
half that would be a good price

ya for sure. I might give $4000 (if it was in good shape) but i don't know about that 760 motor, i like bottom end power, so it wouldn't be for me.

Interested in your comment. Why not a 62T?

Port timing. It's like a cam shaft but cast into the cylinder and can be played with, but only so much. In this case, the 62t has a high rpm cam, and the 61x has nice low rpm torque cam.

Oh, and to the OP, here's a decent one in Spokane http://spokane.craigslist.org/boa/1819289365.html

Up for grabs is my 2000 roundnose, it starts and runs great and is ready to ride for the summer. Its pretty much stock with a few modifications: Protec ride plate, intake grate, bilge pump, shortened handle pole, aftermarket turn plate, and hyrdo turfed tray. The ski is in perfect running condition, but cosmetically has a few paint chips (typical yamaha chipping on engine cover).

You can reach me on my cell 8 a.m. til 9 p.m. to set up a time to come look at the jet ski. The price is $2800 cash no trades please.

That other $3200 will go pretty far on this one to build a damn nice ski.

It's not mine. I'd give him a call. Ski is in Spokane, although he has a SoCal area code.

Oh, and 61x cylinder is what 701s had on them from 94 up. In 2000 thats what they came with. I don't know if the very newest ones still have them or not, but for freestyle and freeride, most prefer a 62t case (the dual carb case) and a 61x cylinder. If you want to race your ski, some prefer 62t cylinders.

Everyone keeps saying $4500 but I think that is HIGH. I just bought mine at the beginning of the year and it was a 99 SJ with a ported 760 buckshot carbs, custom paint and quite a few little things that cost extra money for $2800. There are plenty more deals and that isn't a deal..... Well maybe if it came with a decent blaster on a triple trailer.

whats the benefit of running the dual carbs?
I want freestyle for sure.
What psi should i have my ski running at when I get one?

The dual carb cases, 62t (it has a manifold that bolts on the side like a Kawi) makes more power. Everyone says it's worth it to upgrade if you have a 61x case, which has an intake manifold that's square and bolts down to the case. There are some dual carb manifolds for the 61x, but they still don't perform as well.

185psi or 35cc domes seems to be the popular setup for a 701 running premium pump gas.

$2800 is a smoking deal. Even that blue stock one I posted for $2800 is a great deal around here where they just don't show up much. Right now on CL there are 3 in western WA. One 07 with 15hrs for $5500, one 09 for $6995, and the 2000 the OP posted. The one I posted is a 5hr drive from Seattle. If your market is saturated, it brings the price down quite a bit.

so 62t with 61x cylinder with 35cc domes seems to be the way to go.
anybody else agree?
im looking to get a RN forsure so what years would have a 62t 61x setup? or is that an modded engine?
sorry like I said im new to the whole engine area
