Gloves and Shoes

I did a search and couldn't come up with much. I'm looking to get gloves and shoes.

I've read that Slippery gloves suck. I was looking at the Jet Pilot full finger gloves but I kind of like the Slippery Switch Glove. Or should I just go with MX gloves?

For shoes I want something more low profile not something like a regular tennis shoe. I don't like the Wakeskates. I really like the Slippery Siphon Shoe or Boot. Does anyone have or have tried these? How were they? Or should I just go with something like a wrestling shoe? Are there any other boots I should look at?

Let me know what you guys all use.

I use water ski gloves. they out last slippery gloves by a long shot. I also wear wressling shoes, they work better than the wake skate shoes. I've worn vans on my ski but your ankles get a little raw from the turf

I wear gloves/boots only in the cold. For gloves I just wear my waterski gloves, plenty durable, good grip. I think HO makes the best. As far as boots, most guys on here will probably recomend wrestling shoes, notably Asics. I bought a pair of these:

Pricey, but they are super-duper comfortable, have good grip, and better control than anything else you'll find.

just get some asics.....good grip, pretty good drainage depending on the shoe you get, and outlast everything else by a long shot.

As for gloves, just go MX.

I don't know about out-lasting the J-Fish shoes, but it doesn't matter since you can't get them anymore! :banghead: :banghead:

I have a pair of Asics waiting for when my J-Fish's are shot. But that might be one more season.

I go through about a pair a year of Slippery or JetPilot gloves so if anyone has a suggestion for a durable pair of MX gloves or whatever that last's better then I'd like to hear a recomendation on those too . . . . .

I think you're pretty much effed there. I can't make ANY glove last longer than about 3 months. When I was on the blaster, I went through them faster, not sure why.

MX gloves lasted a little longer than my Slipperys and Jetpilots not by much.
The New Slippery Matrix Gloves seem to better made than previous years. IMO I guess I will see.

Boots anyones guess I have been using Slippery Comp boots. They look good, they fit well and they fall apart quick. Not many choices for me because I have a small foot. This summer I rode with Merrell Watersport shoe. They were real comfortable, but they did offer and ankle support and they let little rocks in. my 2 cents

I ride with Slippery gloves and boots two seasons now although I rotate three sets through.

I use jetpilot boots and fox or shift MX gloves.
I get about a season out of boots and go through about 2 pairs of gloves

I was thinking about these:
Slippery Siphon Boot

Slippery Switch Glove

They are kind of like the O'neil boots but have more coverage over the top.
As for gloves I'll probably just go with MX gloves.

I think I'm going to try out the Slippery Siphon boot. The ankle support can't be much worse than wrestling shoes. And I found some good priced MX gloves that I like.

I went through a whole big ordeal back in the spring with Slippery boots . . . . . .

I have worn Slippery's for years and I always wore XL's, so I ordered a new pair of XL's . . . they came . . . they didn't fit so they sent me another pair of XL's and they didn't fit either.

SO . . . . I exchanged them for XXL's (supposed to fit size 12, Im a 10.5) THEY were too small ! I think they went to metric sizes or had a batch of mismarked pairs or something i don't know but I ended up with Jet Pilot shoes this time instead . . . . I'm reasonably happy with them but I really do like the design of the Slippery's better.

I'm not trying to scare you off of the Slippery's 'cuz they may have gotten it straightend out by now and they make a good product . . . just be sure to try them on immediately when you get them to see if they fit . . . . . .

Now here's a bad product warning . . . . . Do not buy the Body Glove boots being sold on ebay ! They look kinda like Slippery's but . . . . .They are junk ! . . . . . Mine didn't even last two rides before coming apart and the customer service sucked at the place I bought them from !

Thanks for the heads up. I was calling around to see if anyone had them in stock but since the season is over no one is carrying them. I found a pair on ebay for pretty cheap so I hope to try those out and if they don't then fit oh well. My buddy has smaller feet and he can get them off of me.

Wrastlin shoes (Asics) just rinse em out when your done for the day, pair of Seal-skin socks from Overtons....
Cost you a grand total of $75.00 bux, last a few seasons if you keep em rinsed off and dryed out after the day's outing..
You can get the Asics from any Sports emporium....
Water ski gloves work great, I just buy whats on special and if they are full fingered I just cut em down ....
kskip
All that other stuff just eats into your ski mod money...
