General-X Build, 1100 Kawi in a X2

General-X Build, 1100 Kawi in a X2
Well Its the start of winter and the start of this build. I was going to put the motor in my 90 but I ended up finding a nice 86 hull to use for this project.
So here it is, the Name of the Ski is General-X since it will have a General Lee themed paint job when she is done.

Here is the ski and the big boy motor! I will be posting pics once i get more going on it.

I'm not 100% on what to run for a pump and prop.
The 1100 is a factory variable pitch of 7/20.
I am thinking about fitting a 750 pump to the hull right now, but i am going to call impros and see what they think.

OK today I just stipped down the 1100 alittle and mocked up a few things. I have a coffman purple pipe and an Inland jet sports pipe coming so I can see how it fits in the hull with a pipe.
Also have a few idea for the shaft and Couplers.

I need to order a few things from jetski haven too before i get much more done.

WOW, I'd be scared to hold that bitch open. An X2 dump @ 45mph SUCKS, i cant imagine what a 65mph crash would be like...LMFAO

Awesome job pushing the envelope.

Ok well today I pulled the 750 out for my 95 and put the 2 on the bench next to each other. With everyone saying how big the 1100 is and how it is too heavy I just wanted to see how true that was.

Well I gave the 1100 a fighting chance by leaving the air filters and starter on the 750. Both had the stock motor plates on them.

So here it is

750 = 80lbs

1100 = 117lbs

She is a big ***** I will say that.

I'm up in the air on the tubbies. You think I shoud do them? I guess its because I havnt used them before so i dont know if i will like them.
Also it would be nice to say I have a "stock hull X2 that goes XXmph"

We put an 1100 in a sxi this summer we had the drive line shortened and cut new threads and it works great you have to use a pre 95 sxi coupler cuase they are 18mm treads that becuase of the taper on drive line you cant use the larger coupler after cutting threads

I am going to use the smaller couplers because the 900 coupler fits right on the 1100 motor.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Is there an advantage to using the larger coupler?

Im not an x-2 guru ....or any for that matter, but I know most of the riders like tubbies , I was going on the fact that your adding 30 lbs of nose weight , and any xtra hull surface you could aquire would be a plus in my book ! ?? its just food for thought , I personally would do it .. but this is your build

Got a few more parts for the build. I have been alittle slow since I broke my arm last week.
Got a coff purple pipe that seems to be right for the build but i will have to cut it up alittle.Looks like if I cut the tail cone off and bring it up and run a 180 off that ill be good.
I also got a different aftermarket pipe but I dont think I am going to use much of that one.
I also found the right coupler now, its off a 900 and fits the 1100 crank and the X2 shaft coupler size.

Ok I have had a few other projects to work on, but I had some time the other day to work on my jig. I built this just to get an idea of how I want to make the motor plate. I lined up everything off a 750 to get everything as if it was in the x2, but i can see what i am working with on the bench.
So I will be adding 2 extra mounts int he hull making 6 total. The stock plate has a bump in it the hits right where the center 2 mounts will be now. and the rear holes are off but the motor is only a hair off from being in the right spot front to back. The up and down is off by 1/8 inch or so to the stock X2 shaft.

I am going to be using a JSH alum plate and welding extra on to it to make the plate i will use. I will have more pics soon.
