Gas

Dude's I just paid 20 bucks for 5 gallons for 93 oct for my jetski. It is a good thing I am fat and out of shape. I bet the 5 gallons will last me all Summer.

You know,
when gas started going up, they blamed it on demand, that there was too much and once people started cutting back, prices would drop. Well guess what, its a proven fact that demand is down and prices are still going up, AND they are now blaming higher prices on the fact that people are buying LESS gas. Refineries have cut back production on gas because the profit margin is to small now. By cutting back supply, they can raise prices and make more money. So i guess the more fuel efficient vehicles we buy, the higher the prices will climb.

:haha:
Ummm, do you read the news? Both Exxon and Cheveron just posted record high profits ($40bn and $19bn respectively). The refinery division even posted a 13% growth in the 4th quarter. Granted that is not huge, but when you also add in that Exxon showed a 32% increase in income from their "Exporlation and Production" division (which works to increase production and lower costs) then you see they aren't doing too bad.

For me, it does not really matter. I have to be on the road for my job and my boss picks up the gas bill. For those of you who are concerned, go pick up a new Chrysler. They are guaranteeing gas at $2.99 per gallon (87 Octane, E85, or diesel) over the next 3 years with the purchase of a new vehicle.

i think bush is allowing his buddies to gather a quick dime before he leaves office. between him and the sec of the treasury, they never address the problem. its always "lower gas prices are in America's best interest", nice answer but it doesn’t mean shiot. big republicanism (an i am one) is always about paying back the people who put you in office with gov't contracts. Bush is from big oil and guess what....big oil is making record profits!!! no coincidence here. Fock politicians… they’re all alike.

This is exactly why a few years ago we got rid of our gas guzzling autos and moved to 40 and 50 MPG. autos its all about being prepared.

That's if a chrysler can last the 3 years :highhorse:

kinda hard to tow toys around with a 40 or 50 MPG little car though.

then get rid of your seadoo :slap:
Little 4bangers can easily pull 2 standups at highway speeds. I've done it with a Tercel, and it had a smaller engine than some motorcycles!

I have both a couch and a stand-up. However, a little tercel or similiar will not get me in and out of some of the places i put in at. And... Buying foreign doesnt go over well in Michigan when your family works in the auto industry.

Than get a minivan.
It will pull a couch and a stand up, is as big if not bigger inside than an SUV, is better on gas than an SUV because it isn't shaped like a brick.

I used to tow a big couch with a little mini-minivan that was 4 cylinder and would launch right off a beach. Never once did I get stuck and I will bet money that you have never reversed as deep into the water.

I know, a minivan isn't all macho but I'm an adult. It's been years since I needed to prove to the other kids at school how cool I am with my Reebok Pumps.

I dont own a minivan or a SUV. Pick-up trucks. Can still haul everything and anything and have room for the whole family. Plus minivans are pretty much extinct anyways. Most companies have already switched to crossover vehicles which is part minivan/part suv/part sedan.
We have some Taurus X's at work and they look like an SUV, inside is like a minivan, and it sits low to the ground like a sedan.
