I just came back from havasu and I noticed that my ski's that ran great on pump gas (91 octane) this winter in Calif pinged in Havasu.. i had to run 1/4 - 1/3 av gas/100+ octane..

the summer/spring gas this year is going to toast alot of engines ( i just talked with gearhart at group-k ) they are having troubles too !!

summer gas and winter gas is always different... they havnt changed back to what is was last year..(from what i was told) and they wont either.. its a cheaper junk fuel at a 60 cent cost upgrade.. lol

The addition of ethanol and other crap to meet emmissions requirements doesn't help.

How long does race gas keep like that?

I'm not sure to be honest with you. My buddy bought two 55 gallon drums of race fuel about a month ago for the summer. I'll have to ask him if he put any additive in (like an octane stabilizer of some sort).

race gas generally lasts for over a year in a sealed metal container. that is for good race gas like c12. ms 109 does not have a great shelf life. plastic and air degrade the fuel quickly.

"the summer/spring gas.."

In areas where they switch, its the winter gas thats bad. They load up the alchohol in the winter but go
to straight gas in summer because the alchohol evaporates in the heat.

This is getting ridiculus, yesterday I had a crack head try to sell me 2 5 gallon jugs of gas for 12 bucks, i GAVE HIM 8, just because the jugs are about 8 a piece.... Some krazy shizzle, as for the gas, I thought it would be something else, but it actually was gasoline... Can't beat 10 gallons for 8 bucks....
