I have a gap on both sides of my ride plate between the plate and hull (1/8" - 3/16") on each side. It is a jet dynamics ride plate that I got brand new several months ago. Do any of you have similar issues? Does it affect performance? What did you use to remedy this issue?

It's fine. You could silicone it, but I doubt you'd notice any difference.
