Fx1

Anyone in the central Virginia area have an FX1? It seems the only way i'll be able to get consistent time on my superjet is to either buy a superjet or an FX1 for my wife. My wife's really small (5'2" 110 lbs) so the superjet is a little on the big side for her. Anyone have an FX1 she could test ride?

If not, can someone compare the ride characteristics between a superjet and an fx1?

I love both machines with every instance of my being. Having said that, know that one is the POLAR OPPOSITE of the other. What you love about your SJ will be essentially absent in the FX. The FX, in my opinion, is a more "raw" experience. It isn't for everyone I suppose. After having ridden an FX, those that do not enjoy it, do respect it......at least that has been my experience.
In a perfect world I would have both; ridding the FX until fully depleted of stamina, then riding the SJ in recharge mode.

The bottom line is, the FX requires more talent than I will ever be able to provide it (pronounced "old and fat").........but it is fun to try.

Hmm, thanks for the comparison. You don't happen to know anyone in the NC area with a FX1 that my wife could test ride, do you? :fingersx:

My wife loves hers.
she had a squarenose, went to FX1 and wont switch back.

she feels more in control of the FX1 since its lighter.

she always felt that the SJ was going to hit her in the face, or crush her.

the FX is not intimidating to her.

Now MY opinion, the FX is fun to ride, harder than a SJ, lighter, more sqirelly, more nimble.
BUT in stock form, the pumps dont hook up nearly as good as an SJ, and that makes it harder to use the boats power to pick you up from a lean, or offbalance situation.

I predict she will like it, find her one!

Yep, I just built my GF one, she loves it. It definitly takes a little more skill to ride than the superjet but with a new pump I think its going to be an awesome ski.

What pump did you replace yours with?
It currently still has the stock prop with a skattrac prop in it but I am piecing together all the parts for a kawasaki pump swap. For her 140lbs it works great and she doesn't ride super aggresive but when I jump on and want to mess around the bottom end is kind of lacking due to slight cavitation (180lbs).
