Fx1 spring time build

Question I'm running a ada head on my engine and last night I was trying to prime the fuel line I set the flow controls to a close setting, didn't have the engine running and the hose hooked up to it and I'm getting water inside the motor not a ton but enough that it wet the plug and wouldnt fire like it was doing before I turned the hose on. The hose ran for about 5 minutes till I realized my stupidity lol! I tipped it over pulled the plugs and bump the starter I got a small amount out but less then a cup or at least that's all I could see. I then poored some 2 cycle oil into the cylinder and bumped the starter again just to coat things over tonight till I can dry it out better and fire it after work. Is it normal to get a little from that head I blocked the head with a very fine sand paper clean off the old gasket just was wondering if it needed a good heat cycle or two to seal?

the water most likely came in thru the exhaust not the head. I would be damn sure it is all out and run it to be sure! leaving water in the crank area is a big deal!

I got as much of it out as I could I don't think more then half a cup of water got in there I couldn't start it since it was so late but I did put a few ounce of oil in the plug hole and bumped the starter with the plugs back in till it started to hydro lock a bit. It seemed worse at first... I did have the hose on almost fully so I'm sure I'm good in my seals it probably just backed up through my riva red pipe

Alright the water thing was just me freaking out and hopefully having the hose turned up too high!

So on to the next question, I really aprecaite all the help so far! Anyway let's talk jetting, the last only had the stock motor jet to 135 main and I want to say a 118 pilot jet.. I just had to clean out the needle and seat and just to get it to idle I have the low turned out 1 3/4.. I'm at high altitude 5000 plus and I have no clue how this head and pipe are going to affect my fueling, do I need to fatten it up or am I good at 135 I know I'll need to change the pilot to get it set more like the factory had the needles.

your 135 will be fine to start, open the high speed screw. you don't need a hose on to start the ski everytime, 20 seconds dry running is fine, and never turn the hose on if it isn't running!!!!

Great news thanks. So I'm at the lake now and it's running pretty good but I made two mistake and had to swap the steering cables look like fixed trim here I come! Second I also am having a lot of cavitation this is probably cause by me not sealing the pump in since I wanted to remove it next week to finish the ski right and install the tubbies! I'm sure the wire rigged fix trim since my cable won't work a up trim now that it's installed probably doesn't help the cavitation issue much either...

My temps are also pretty good water coming out of the pissers is more warm then on the hot but I think my flow control is cause the exhaust tubing to run warmer than I remember and the ski is a lot louder with the red pipe on it to the point I think my water box isn't getting enough water to deaden the sound!
