I like the plate Toby makes for it. It's close to stock with shallow channel down the middle. . A few years ago you could still order a pro-tec mo flo intake new but I'm not sure now.

I think I bought the second to last one from Protec. Call Mr. Brown over there and ask him if he has any more.

I called Pro-Tec today and he’s not selling them anymore. I’ll shoot Toby a message. Thanks!

I am actually curious about the Blowsion Jet Dynamics ride plate for the FX-1.
I had one on a 08 RN years ago and liked it. Kept the “chine walk” down to a minimum. I’m just not wanting to put too much money in my FX1 after rebuilding my SXR motor over the winter.

Why? I am truly curious. How does the Jet Dynamics ride plate ride compare to the Protec?
The JD plate basically adds skegs to your hull. Maximum grip specifically designed to tame the "squirrely ski" as they call it. To me, the loose ride is what makes an FX1 special. Embrace the drift. It's what makes it fun. If you want grip just buy a SJ or sxr. Also the last JD part I bought was very expensive and horribly made. It was a jd60+2 intake grate. The front holes were 3/8" off to one side and had to remove 1/4" of material to fit in the pump shoe.

@hornedogg79 Thank you buddy! I can see why you say that the JD ride plate adds "fins." An additional strake.

In comparison, the absolutely flat as a table Protec ride plate that I have does not add fins or a strake for sure. I guess I am embracing the squirrel. It takes a little sensitivity on weight placement in the tray to hook up the pump. And when the pump is hooked up to the water it flies. Sometimes falling off between 45-~50 mph and rolling on the surface can be a rude embrace for sure, but I am learning and love my FX-1.

(I will be installing the Tom21 sponsons soon and will go back to my thread on those to report what they do if anything. But if you have any quick words for me or @Mike W about sponsons on the FX-1 please drop a line or two here...)

@Mike W FYI:

Check what Was says about the Jet Dynamics ride plate in post #31 here:

Everyone has a bit different ride style. I think I've tried most of the rideplates and the flat ones with a d cut seem to suit me best. I sold my old shredmaster to Wax. He is right about front and rear sponsons making the fx1 awesome. Front help so much with the high speed get offs. Prevents the death roll. Rear wings will give you slow speed stability and grip in turns but only when on edge. Still super loose when riding the keel.

I had a Protec intake on mine for 15 years and I hit something in the water and it broke and I lost half of it so I couldn't fix it. So I bought a Jet dynamics to replace it. Took me 2 hours of grinding and sanding to get it to fit. Not nearly as good as the protec was as far as hook up. I am still running my protec ride plate and like the way it rides. it's still a little loose but thats the way an fx1 should be!

I went out yesterday on my fx rocket. I put the jet dynamics ride plate on to see what would happen. It blows
The ski will not old a line coming off the corner and plans out a lot later. This means the nose rises a lot and make you bunnyhop off the turns
Its also down on top speed a lot, The shred master is a far better pleat for the fx1 in my mind

Good info fellas. Just going to keep looking for a ProTec rideplate and top loader. From what you guys are saying, this is a better fit for my riding style.

I would like to see what a shred master plate for the FX-1 looks like.
I used MetaGer to search for shred master. And I cannot find the company or any ride plates for the FX-1.
So if anyone has a photo, please post it up so we (I) can know what we are talking about.
