The fx1 is like a kawasaki 550 sx with a superjet 701 motor installed in it. The superjet is in a class of its own, its the preferred ski of most freestylers.

Bottom line: Fx1: Lighter than sj, easier to throw around, quite unstable. Superjet: More stable, easier to master.

Both of them are great skis, i would pick either. :headbang:

I wnt from a 550 to the FX1 and it was awsome. The FX is very similar to the Kawi, only with lots of reliable power.

Getting on a Super jet now, it feels so stable, and heavy! If my FX has a major misshap I would look for a round nose, but would not otherwise switch. The biggest prob with the FX is the small pump. You can't modify the motor heavily in the FX or you will run into cavitation problems. But stock power to weight is very good. My FX hull, after reinforcement weighed in at 97 lbs. Stock super is like 140 +/- I think.

The FX uses a lot of similar parts. Both great skis!
Ride both, see what you like, It's just preference.

My personal opinion is that the FX-1 is more fun to ride, but in rough water they're a PITA. Maybe a bigger pump would help, I don't know, part of it is due to the smaller hull. Complete, they're like 25 pounds lighter than a Superjet.

If your riding in any sort of chop the FX1 blows. Its great for throwing it around and play riding though! I'll never forget my buddy and I taking off across the lake to the restaraunt and huge wind came up about half way across. Worst day of my life on that FX1.
