FX-1 FX-1, widened tray, 144 pump

So long story short, I always wanted an FX-1 but I wound up getting a JS550 that my buddy Jordan (JETSKIHORDER18) rebuilt for me and rode that last summer. However, this fall I got to ride an FX-1. I really liked it.

So we bought the hull, Superjet pump tunnel, and wide tray from Sanoman.

First few things to take care of are finish the fiberglass work, and try to bring the purple shine back (any suggestions?) in all the plastics. Paint and Graphics will be stock. They are way to nice to peel off. Motor will be stock or close to it but now we have room to grow with the 144 pump. The hull has both side and rear exhaust holes. Any opinions on running dual, or should I block off one of the holes? Also what footholds would be optimum for this set up, (widened tray)?

Here is a list of parts that I am currently looking for (I will update this as I think of more parts that I will need):

-FX-1 B-pipe chamber
-Steering/straight bars
-Steering cable
-Throttle cable
-9/15 hooker prop

And the ski's current location in our apartment :)

Glad you got that old ride. She is a good fx.

l used soft scrub with bleach for the plastic. And lots of elbow grease. Some guys use heat.l did not have much luck.

The side exhaust was cool for about one season and the only advantage was you could do tailspins.

Good luck with your build!

Id run a scupper valve in one of the holes while you got the tray out, also i use the TOBY footholds and havent rode them yet but love the way they feel while i ride my jetski in my garage. Ill look in the garage I might have a set of Riva zero degree bars too ...

Ahhh your the one who ended up with the sano fx1 ... nice !!! you better finish what someone gave up on :) (jus playing Don)

As far as the plastics, use a heat gun , sometimes a hairdrier will work but a heat gun works better. slow and steady , but not too slow , the plastic will melt !!

take lots of pictures as you go . and Good luck to you !

Thanks for the tips, I'd like to keep it as close to stock looking as possible. So if we can bring the plastics back that would be nice.

give him hell Chad! he'd do the same for us. ha

I'll have to see if I can get a picture of our basset hound's on the FX1. That is if they ever stop howling at anything they lay their eyes on
