FX-1 fx-1 vs sj?

Here's my input and let me say it's totally my opinion from an FX owners perspective, so take it as that. Don't want it to become a food fight and I'm trying to be as impartial as possible:

FX:
The good = very light/strong, very nimble, slight nose/tail rocker built it, entire hull is glass (not SMC), very dry hood design.

The bad = small pump (122mm vs 144mm), only made in '94 and '95 so hard to find. Less stable for peeps wanting an easier platform.

SJ:
The good = 144mm pump, more availability of aftermarket parts, very stable/easy to ride, gobs of steering ratio (on pre-'08).

The bad - Heavier (~ 30lbs), SMC hull (bottom deck), hood design seems to take on a lot of water.

Simple and sweet.. nice way to put it and I agree..

Yeah, i could care less about the whole sj is better, no fx is better crap. Everyone's an original and has their own preferences.
So i got a newb question, what is smc?
And how hard is it to find parts for a fx? What parts can be used from other ski's?
thanks

SMC - Sheet molded compound.
Motor parts and electrical parts are all interchangeable with other Yamaha twin 650/701/760 motors to some extent.

Im an fx1 convert. SJ was just to heavy for my liking. I will agree with one thing said in that pwctoday thread. The fx does only turn edge to edge and is very lose when trying to turn on the flat of the bottom. BUT that is the whole fun of it! Def a great feeling when you learn to bury the rail and let the thing cut the water like a knife!
