FX-1 FX-1 Sunk.(hood latch came off) Won't Start now

I sunk my FX-1. I got all the water out of the engine and what not. I am getting fuel to the carb and have spark and good compression in both cylinders. But it just turns over and over and will not start. I'm thinking carb problem but am in need of others thoughts and ideas. I've never sunk it before.
Also if anyone has any extra hood latches or knows where to aquire them I would be interested in that info to.

Take the plugs off and keep cranking it until you cant even see spray coming out anymore. Give the carb a good prime. Get it started as soon as possible and ride it.

I have that latch from Odd Duck's post. It works great.

Uh, did you drain your gas tank??? may have alot of water in the tank contaminating the fuel.

I did the samething with my fx1 last summer. Just like stated above, pull plugs turn it over, use the starter to get all the liquid out. Get it fired up and ride it for as long as possibe with out stopping. I didn't have an issue with water in my gas.

Ive sunk a few times and in my experience you always get some water in the gas.
Maybe a couple oz is too little to reach the pickup and cause obvious problems, but I will always drain/clean the tank if in doubt.
