this may be a dumb question, but i am not that smart so here goes. Does it mean i have water in my fuel when there's this white greasy stuff in the throat of the carbs and the ski bogs down?

it COULD be water sucked in from simply bouncing around in the hull, and mixing with the gooy oil crap in the carb throat.

if its bogging though... thats potentially a whole other issue.

This just happened to me as well. I have this foamy white residue built up in the throat of my carb. Clean it out and its fine for about 10-15 minutes, then starts bogging in the water and runs lean when out (Revving out of control). I also found the same residue on the outside of the carb around the fuel pump. Does this mean I have water in my tank or maybe the carb is sucking water from splashing around in the hull? I use outerwears to keep water out of the carbs. Any suggestions?

I’m going with the "water in the fuel" option. after a lot of bouncing around the water will become entrained in the gas (like salad dressing after shaking) and does not settle. I’m getting rid of the fuel and starting fresh.
