Fuel Leak

I started my ski for the first time in almost a year last week. I filled up the tank about halfway and it started right up. Fast forward a week later, I take the top off of the ski to pull the battery and the engine bay was full of gas. The ski is leaning forward on the trailer so I don't know how it would've leaked out of the tank if that were the case? Anyone know the cause, or have any tips on where fuel could leak from? Thanks.

this could be a stuck needle and seat in carb , better make sure your engine is not full of gas .......

also once had a tank vent fail and with very hot day it pushed fuel back , fuel line leak etc ...

Good new s u didnt try to start the ski with hood on .....

I'm gonna try and figure it out tomorrow. I soaked up the fuel earlier and im letting it dry overnight. I'm just very confused because i was gonna start my ski a couple days back and realized the battery was dead, but the engine bay was empty, and then 2 days later its full of fuel?

Remove the vent and pressurize the tank , it should hold like 5 psi of ppressure , obviously yours won't but it should show you where the leak is at .

If the leak was at the needle and seat the gas wouldn't be in the hull , it would be in the motor and the exhaust pipe - waterbox.

I also forgot to mention that there was a little bit of fuel in a little spot near the carb, not sure how it got there.

I had the o-ring on the fuel tank fail on my sxi, it's between the tank and fuel selector. It filled the hull up with fuel. I replaced the o-ring and have not had a problem since.
I might have to look into that. I left the fuel on by accident again and the hull filled up with atleast 2 gallons of gas. It seemed like it was coming from the carb but I’m not sure.

Pull the lines off the carb and hook a popoff tester to it, pump it up , it will show you where the leak is.
