fuel filter direction

The OEM stock fuel filter has the little directional arrow on it, but I wasn't paying attention when I pulled mine off to replace fuel lines. Does the arrow point to the tank or the carb?

It points to the direction of fuel flow, the arrow goes toward the carb. Kinda makes sense if you think about it huh.

That's what I figured, but then I thought about the same arrow on the check valve that points to the tank...
