Fuel Caddy Recommendation

I’m looking for a fuel caddy that holds at least 15-20 gallons and has wheels. Just tired of lugging and storing fuel jugs on my dock. There are so many to choose from but I just don’t want to buy one and it be a pos. I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg either. If you have any recommendations let me know.

I just bought a 30 gal one off eBay for $210. I believe they make smaller ones. Comes with hand crank pump. All steel, so it’s really heavy, I’m guessing about 75lbs empty. Seems decent built, nothing great. Only reason I wouldn’t buy it again is because it weights to much to put it in the back of your truck buy yourself.

That one is $600. Little more than I want to spend.

No stairs but 400’ from my garage to the dock. Something with large tires would be perfect but I haven’t found one yet.

Mike, I looked last year too. I never found an outdoor over the grass landscaping oriented hand truck. What I considered making would have worked for my wife's former ski boat down the stairs to the dock. She sold the boat and her ski partner bought a nicer boat so we have shelved the gas handtruck project for now. So I never built it.

Instead, probably an ATV or UTV with a pickup-type bed a tank and a long hose is in your future . . .

A dolly for a single 5 gallon jug? Really?

My shoulders are ripped up from a lifetime of white water kayaking. So, the dolly I used but never finally built with the larger wheels would fit two, but even not having to carry one jug down the stairs was a blessing.

Believe it or not, when you get older you appreciate saving your muscles and your vertebrae for sport rather than doing the lifting to do sport.

It should handle the weight, you just can't carry more than one at a time.

I hear ya brutha! I'm an old dude myself. I wake up some mornings feeling like I got hit by a truck and I have to ask myself "what the hell did I do yesterday??!!" "Oh, yeah, I went riding...." Fun hurts.

I use this folding cart and 5 gallon jugs. It rolls pretty easily through the grass and let’s you haul stuff in addition to the fuel. Only issue is if you put the cans in the end, it wants to tip so you do have to pay attention to where you place them.

I planned on folding it for storage but just stand it on its end and it doesn’t take up much space.

This is exactly what I’m needing. The grass in the waterfront side of my house is thick St Augustine grass so larger tires are a must.

change wheels or try the ones that came with it $ 299. OR build your own. alum dock cart and buy a boat tank add hand pump or bat pump system. I would build / cannibalize a alum cart with 5 gal tanks ( easy to load and move) with a fuel pump system. Tank the time and do it right.
