Front exhaust

Is there any reason to have a dual exhaust/front exhaust other than maybe an extended tail stand? Not sure when else it would come into play. Trying to decide if it's worth the time and $$$. Thanks

Some people dont like them because of noise/never use them

I love mine....I use tail stand on flat and int he surf to recover form thigns aswell as monkey jumps...5050s...and other stuff....I like it and was worth it

Have a 99 SJ. have stock exhaust outlet right now. Was thinking about putting on a DUAL exhaust outlet. Where one is out the front side and the other is out the back (stock)

Never thought, but as Waste Land stated, this will benefit on monkey jump and 50/50 right? That could be the selling point:biggrin:

got any pics to see if i like it?

another thought i had was going the rod holder method. not sure if they would be alright or not.

was looking for people who had them and if they are ok...

thanks though

I went that route....I can tell no difference in mine and a blowsion one......both were kinda a pain to install but everything will still fit.

Been riding surf for 17 years with a rear exhaust and have yet to have my ski stall on a landing from water going up the exhaust outlet. I also have been doing tail stands/ spins for the same period of time and never had a problem with rear exhaust.........what are you guys trying to fix with going to a front exhaust??

I'm confused..........it seems like when the factory made front exhaust everyone converted to rear exhaust, now that the factory uses a rear exhaust people are converting to front......is it just a "trick mod" factor???

granted i can do tail stand all day long with my rear exhaust, but i can def tell that the pump is cavitating some from the exhaust.

if you never rode with one i don't think you would know what you are missing kinda thing...

If SJ's had the little 45deg angled tube like SXR's have, the bubbles would be diverted away from the pump area. I don't do monkey jumps, but rear exit only has never been a problem for me either with tail stands or rear-first landings in the surf.
A kawasaki 650sx and x2 have an OEM side outlet. I got one for $10 + ship if somebody wants it. The stainless steel fishing rod holders look much better to me, I have one of those for sale too.

Kinda hard to see, but right below the bondline.

Here's the stainless steel rodholder.
