Why not just use a T and run to the rear exhaust too? That way you can keep the freestyle gains of front but keep it slightly quieter

you would be better off to leave the rear in place........ there is a reason the diameter of the exhaust is the size it is, the front is there to just act as a relieve when your tail is underwater and to help divert the gasses when doing monkey jumps and tail stands.

why not just leave the rear exhaust only . like kauna said it is only used for monkey jumps and tail stands . besides it makes the side of the ski paint look bad ,it cost more money to modify and do the work . and you breath in more exhaust . no real gains . unless you love monkey jumps .

I replaced my rear exhaust outlet with a scupper. I only did this mod to save weight. I will find out Friday how the front only exhaust works...... Pat at X metal said there are plenty of freestyle guys using front only with 0 problems..... wich leads me to ask....... is there any truth to what BK is saying about the hole diameter thing? The exit on the B-pipe is atleast as small....... I wish someone knew the real answers that everyone seems to be looking for!

Gains are minimal in my experience, BK is correct in they assist in tail stalls and other nose up low speed flatwater tricks. (IMO only to keep the exhaust from interupting the jet thrust we noticed no power gaines on Toby's) It is also loud and messy & more shiot to go wrong.
If determined to get rid of rear exhaust, it really needs to be patched in w/ SMC resin or epoxy resin and fiber glass from inside and out. This means time to cut hole in side of tray to defoam that area, patch and refoam then patch up side of tray. Fun stuff.

are you talking about the exhaust coming out of the top deck? I"m pretty sure the blowsion/joe kenny front nose exhaust was above the bond line. I'm pretty sure it was ditched because of the exhaust gasses. might not be as bad on the side though.

shove a raquetball up your rear exhaust tube......

:haha:

......then ride it with all the exhaust diverted to the front. seems like itd be way too much noise.

have you ever noticed the size of the square nose exhaust hose vs. the round nose exhaust hose... It all about the Flow.... you want the exhaust gases to get out of the waterbox as easily as possible.

You know, I thought that too. However, when I saw malones rear exhaust tube, I noticed that it was only about 2" diameter. I asked him about it and he didn't go into any detail. My guess is that, especially using a flow control valve (less water in exhaust), you don't need such a big diameter. Consider also that the 47mm Factory Pipe opening (less than 2") in the manifold or the stinger diameter is your largest restriction.
