FRONT EXHAUST outlet ??

running front exhaust only .... is 2" enough. I made up a slick 2.5" aluminum
front exhaust but its pretty big and really tough to get it to fit around the waterbox. SO i made a 2" but dont know if thats big enough.

You will be more then fine!

I run the X-metal front exhaust setup only (no rear) with my TLR 780cc flattop motor.... no problems... just loud!

Bigger would probably sound cooler though for sure/

just a 701 with all the bolt on stuff and 175 psi. whats the downfall of putting it the right side instead of the left???

OH and i cut up my waterbox and narrowed it 2" and cut down the outlet tube .5" on both sides so now i got clearence for either size.

No down side, thats just the way most aftermarket companies route them, so they can obtain the stock rear exhaust.....

Should be fine, I'm running a 2" on my SXR withg all porting and bolt ons. I believe the stock is 2". I known guys just running the side exhaust out of a blowsion side exhaust kit, it works

stock is 2.5" and that is the source of my aluminum piping for the front outlet setup.
Unfortunately as you can see in the pic its pretty damn big compared the area it should be mounted in :( I might have to find another spot to locate it besides the lower front....any ideas?? how bout above the bond line???

You should be fine with a 2" setup. The factory pipe manifold is a measly 47mm(1.85) if you have the big one 42mm (1.65) if it is the older manifold. If you port your manifold to 50mm's that is only 1.96 inches so anything bigger than your manifold should not have any back pressure

if you route the outlet on the left like a traditional dual outlet system and cap off the rear outlet T from the water box will water drain out of the box efficiently? since the water has to move forward around the loop in front of the waterbox while under acceleration i would imagine it would be pretty hard getting the water out of the box with it set up on the left.

or i could be wrong...

im not running any rear exhaust therefore i have no T. I do feel it would be best though coming out my right side and over the bondline so no water at all closes it off, even in hard turns. Any downfall to above the bondline? I guess using the bigass one with the nasty hood could do a number to my flesh in the likely occasion we meet :X the little stainless tube is a fishing rod holder:)

I think above the bond line would result in face full of exhaust. I like the looks of the setup in the first picture. If you could move it back a bit and point it down a little. I would use that one.

but if you run it on the left side you still have to loop it in front of the waterbox unless you modified the way the exhaust exits the waterbox.

i think on the right about where the front motor mount is would be a good location.

D-roc has his above the bond line like you are considering and doesn't like it very much. Myabe its his mixture he is running but he gets black soot all over the side of ski, even his bars, and it blows in his face. I think under the bondline would be better. Just my 2 cents.

ok...thanks for everyones opinions...def going under the rail and proabably going to stick with the stainless one since it is less capable of flesh eating :)
