I am reworking my trim system for more throw. I have a few really good ideas but still need to test them. If you have a freestyle trim system post some pics and description of how it set up and a pic of the throw you get with it.

very interested in how this thread turns out,I have a raider trim system,I got from a racer a few weeks ago,its currently a trim down only,It needs to be converted to trim up,but with all the little things added to it,im not sure the best way to do that
It has a lot of throw, this is the last thing I need to do to this hull to get it perfect for freeride.

To get maximum throw, on the collar, move (cut and weld) the pull point from the top to the side, as close to the pivot point as possible. Then, machine away metal on the nozzle accordingly, to allow the full travel (you'll have to fab a new cable mount tab on the reduction nozzle also (I think the OEM and Pro-Tecs are designed to have the cable up high for the center pull).

You might give Pat at XMetal a call. He helped me create a big throw hybrid Pro-Tec/Raider trim system. Now that we got mine working he can easily replicate what he did for others.

I have a cool diagram I did for a trim system that resembles what you are talking about. If Pat at x-metal already has one that would be awesome.

The mounting point for the top oof the steering nozzle is noved above the nozzle. The top of the trim ring that hits the reduction nozzle is removed and mounted up high. To retain strength the ring is connected via a cross bar, trim cable mounts in the center, no bolt for the steering nozzle, just a nice povito point w/ a retainer ring. The main weight of the noxxle will be on the lower bolt and the top pivoting point will just keep the nozzle centered.

The nozzle is also clearenced on both sides to accomidate risers that substitue the removed section of the trim ring.
