This weekend a subject was brought to light by one of the racers in the group .tuning his ski .trying to figure out which driveline worked best to achieve peak RPM for stock class .well this got my wheels turning as i know ballpark what a stock boat would turn RPM wise ,but what about todays bad ass freestyle motors ? according to the tiny tach's the readings are almost double the RPM's of a stocker .could this be so ? or am i missing something .post up what your experience is with peak RPM ,this may enlighten me a lot on some of todays engines longevity issues .just curious

Tiny tack is off, rpms are not doubled.

I do not understand the driveline question as far as stock class, you do not have an option..... unless your talking "do I race and SXR or a SJ".

I am thinking I was getting 6700 rpms on my stock SXR but it has been 6 years since I have paid attention, sold it in 09.

Bk ,sounds about right for the stock SXR rpm # .but for todays high rpm pv motors i think the number is significantly higher .just want to compare some # .i know the tiny tach may be off some but they are also ballpark accurate .The driveline tuning was just how we got on the subject of ,really has nothing to do with my question of what todays powervalve motors see for max RPM's.also to elaborate i guess a freestyle motor see's a lot more "air time" or time not hooked up to the water thus increasing the engines max rpm's

Bk a little further investigation i found that the numbers i was seeing on my tach were x2 .i haven't really played around with the hardline tach rpm function that i am running ,i use it for an hour meter.this is why i posted the question .i didn't feel that the numbers that i was reading were correct (that would be like formula 1 status) but i also know these little units are fairly accurate .with that being said the numbers on my motor were respectably high in the RPM's .coming in at peak RPM's 7767.5 ,Wow !
