why does he offer 2 liners? will the drypipe liner not work for a wetpipe?

fwiw, WCF's liner works w/ a drypipe too.

To my knowledge he developed one liner for the b-pipe b/c that is what he personally used............then developed the dry pipe liner for those that wanted it to clear that application. I guess he could just offer the dry pipe version but if he developed the mold for 2 why not have some options.

I guess I don't see why you would.

Maros' hood liner fits pretty much every pipe ever made, no mods required.

I ran the blowsion liner for a while, sold the hood to Royalflush, then he sold the ski to IDOK, he still has it, it is a great mod if you are not going to be doing flatwater freestyle.......

I have run the Wammer 8 hole hood, great hood for flatwater....... Blowsion Joe Kenny Hood, did not work for me for flatwater, but it is one durable hood, when I sold it, there was not one crack in it. Went to a new 2 hole wammer hood. Great for Flat Water, but had some issues with the liner...... I have not tried the WCF so I cannot talk about it....... the original 24/7 SR71 is the shiznit, but I have never owned one, and do not know about the current version of it...... Now there is the WDK, personally, I think it is probably built well, price is very good but the handholds look like there was no thought into the location or shape of them..... The TKO is just about identical to the Wammer so you would not go wrong there. The XFT is totally different, but I have not used or seen one of those so no opinion. Forget the Brutus Hood (Blowsion). Not even sure they still make those.

Hey BK what made it a great mod? Personally I really don't care about flatwater freestyle, but I like the idea of a lighter hood with better breathabililty while still keeping water out.

when shopping for a hood nowadays, keep in mind that as far as 24/7 goes.... they are not the same company. quality could be worse, the same or better.

i cant see it being the same or better though.

I had to vote for the Watercraft Factory hood... Fit and finish is great I havn't seen a lot of hoods but this hood is perfect for the price.

^^^^^I realy like the look of Steves hood....

My new Waterdawg hood is nice quality/well built. 12lb 10oz. The pre preg hood I saw at Daytona was awsome! Not sure the true weight on that. Anyone know?

The old 24/7 hoods are top notch!

Trinity hood is awsome for the SXR guys with materials that are over the Top... Bobby's finished surf hood weighs 6lb 13oz..... top notch craftmanship, with unbelievable stregth.

Cant speek for the rest.

with the added 2 air intakes/drains under the rear lip, it really helped get the water out, barely any water got in the hull........ as far as weight, I think my hood may have been heavier than stock...... But still worth it........ Check with Idok, he may want to sell it.

Right on.

How did it compare to a stock hood with the front holes plugged and rear holes opened?

I just did that to my stock hood and put these vents over the rear holes and my ski stays very dry. Charles gave me that idea and it works really well.

So, anyone else got any thoughts on the Waterdawg hood?

Are they still $600 with a billet pole bracket? IMO his fit and finish are at least as good as the others. You can't go wrong if you like the way it looks. It's a plain looking hood, but it works. I happen to like the handholds, they are simple but you can grab them easily from the front or back.

I'd ask about a prepreg version, they are only 6-7 pounds and supposedly quite strong.

^^^^ What he said. Best value out there, but I wouldnt say it is the best looking..... I definetly see it holding up for a long time as well.

As far as style goes the SR-7 is hard to beat. I did not really care for the looks of the WD hood kit at first but the more I look at them in person the more I like the sanitary appearance. Between all the 24/7, WF, XFT and other designs out there the WD kit, although simple, makes for the sleakest profile b/c it does not attempt to add any additional lines to the ski

My vote was for SR... Mine has incredible fit and finnish... (Maros made mine havent seen any from the new guy)

I just started putting my Waterdawg hood kit on and so far it looks like the holes for the front hooks were drilled wrong. If I lay the hood in the seal it seems to fit perfect, when I put on the front hooks it doesn't go forward all the way and the left side is tweeked up farther than the right.
Anyone have any idea's on how to adjust this hood?
Also the front nose piece won't slide down under the bracket, I guess I have to tweek or bend that too?
I thought this would just bolt right up.

if you are using the waterdawg hood hooks it fits perfect, and you might wanna bend the tab on the nose piece and wrap electrical tape around it to prevent vibration.

Well I called Jeff at Waterdawg and he agreed from what I told him that the holes in my hood were drilled wrong. One of the holes was so close to the liner that I had to grind the corner off the bracket that holds the nuts on just to be able to get the bolt through. And the hood still fits like s***! He was very cool and business like and said he would send me a new hood that day ( Tuesday), and should have it by Friday and also send me a tracking number. Well it's Thursday eve and no tracking number yet. I'm hoping the new one will come tommorrow. It took me a month to get this hood kit and now I'm getting frustrated. Also the front nose piece doesn't fit, I guess I'll have to try to bend the bracket down and hopefully not break it.
I do understand when you mass produce anything that some are going to go out messed up but it sucks when it happens to you.
