How does this sound

85.5 mm Speedwrox ported flat top motor

Singe 44 or 46 mm carb

Factory b pipe w/ limited chamber

msd enhancer..

now sure what prop to run?

how does that sound?
will it rip or suc?

asking for a buddy.. we are trying to get his blaster rippin!

Itl rip ur arms off if its tuned correctly(carb setup) and b sure to do some cylinder porting (acceleration) bore the nozzle 85mm and get a pump nozzle cone....all of these mods are cheap and offer a diff that yul wonder where did this come from...and 85.5mm is the last outbore thus it sounds like ur in for a $$$ if ur pistons, sleeves go...rebore I mean...in the surf u dont need that much power,Jimmy Visser over here runs almost stock with raised comp,pipe,impeller...and in overseas comps he ride crap perf skis...

All n all great setup,ul love it and its killer!!!!hav fun ridin

I agree with Jetskier 79. You rode mine at the Daytona ride. Pipe, Prop, 185 compression. I had a set of SRE carbs on it then. Went back to stock set because I didn't like the salt water destroying that nice expensive carbs.
I love it in the surf. Also it's reliable. Well the motor is, the hull is a different story.

Ive got a

62t
85.5 flat tops
TLR freestyle ported
greater yamaha head
twin 46 redtops
limited b-pipe
SBT welded crank
looking to run about 165lbs of compression

I hope to have it running this weekend if all my parts make it in.

I will probably be breaking it in this fallowing weekend, I will post a thread on how it works, and compares to a stock motor with head, pipe, and impeller.

I cant wait to have this thig running!!!!! Should hit like a ton of bricks!!!!

Oh yea, it will be in a lightned blaster, with reinforced transom.......hahahaha.......It will definetly be different looking, will post pics when complete!

Sounds like overkill for the surf. You might want to go single carb.
Reinforce the transom!! Most important! If your doing rolls, reinforce the part where the side and bottom edge is. I just finished reinforcing my B1 like a Super. Filled bond line on the inside and layed glass top to bottom. For the transom, I stole Buti's idea and got rid of the retun lip by foaming and glassing. Derick has this set up also (I have ridden his ski)and it seems to land much different. I really like the feel. Good Luck!

^^^^I have reinforced the transom, I cut the lip off the Back, I did like three layers of thick arse Mat. For the sides, I knocked the glass way down, and bleeded it allarond the edges. The mat was hard to work with because of how thick it is. Did you guys build it up thicker then stock around the side of the SkI? What glass would you recomend for future refrence?

Not sure what you mean. I did my B1 the same as my FX1. Layed glass from the hood lip all the way down to the bed plates. Very solid on the sides!
For the rear, mine was not broken (Yet). I layed 4 layers of biaxl and 2 layers of cloth. My transom is like 1/2 solid fiberglass. For reinforcing I like to use biaxl with a layer of cloth over it (makes for easier finish work). The biaxl is thick and does not conform well to curved area, but if you take your time it is worth it. I have worked with fiberglass quite afew years and prefer it to carbon fiber in watercraft aplications.

cool, great info! The only problem I see there is that you ski must wiegh a ton! I didnt do anything for the inside of the motor compartment, I was referring to the glass on the transom wrapping around to the sides of the hull. I hope it is strong, Im begining to hate glass work!

No doesn't weigh much more. I haven't even used a gallon of resin. Not sure, but a gallon of resin prob only weighs 10-15 lbs? and some of that is sanded away durring prep. You guys and you weight....10-15 lb's like 1 1/2 gallons more of gas on board. Won't even notice.

Yeah, the rear sides are not as thick as the rear itself. Don't hate, embrace the fiberglass!! Feels so good on the skin:cheer:
