Found out why my ski didn't start.....

Clean it, try it, and get a spare for when that one craps out. But i'd run it until it poops.

er, why not run the 'spare', and keep the chitty one as the real spare.

they usually crap out at very inopportune times, such as far away from land.

that thing looks like dog azz. i can imagine what it looks like internally, where it really matters.

So this is why Scorn told me not to use a Yamaha ebox...
One time I was riding and I had the positive battery cable come off of my ski. Good thing I never stopped the engine or else I would have been swimming....

Yup :beerchug:
I can't believe Yamaha still has not changed the ebox. It's such a crappy design.:shooter3:

The box will get clean right up with the electric cleaner spray like wavedemon said. I'd also unplug all the connections and put some dielectric grease on them. You can get the small relay wire terminal at most auto parts store when you get the spray cleaner. Wirebrush off the relay posts and all other connections. See if it works then.

Buy a NEW OEM e-box gasket (about $12), don't bother trying to rig it with silicone or some other sealant crap. that does not last...from experience

Sooo...I got the ski all back together, pushed the start button and nothing. It's not the battery so now I have to try and fig. out what's wrong. I kept the relay in there but I replaced the terminal and cleaned everything real good with CLR. If the relay is completely dead would nothing happen as stated above...thanks

The relay would click if it was relaying the signal .Make sure all your wires are good and the ends are clean .Clean your start /stop switch too and douible check that all your bullet connectors are together in the e-box including the grounds
