for those that repainted there blasters

If you take the ski stripped of parts to an auto body place you are probably looking at 400-800. The more work you do, the less they will probably charge. If you were to prep the ski to the point where they would only have to mask off, wipe down and spray, you could probably find someone to do it really cheap. Plus, if you are only doing one color, and it isn't a pearl of metal flake, you can go single stage paint.

i stripped mine down completly. then wet sand with 1200 just to knock the loose stuff off. too a black sharpie and marked where needs to be filled and sent to my paint guy. $900.00 cash. the paint is not automotive paint. its a 2-stage epoxy self leveling real fast drying. if you look at my paint job thats how i got it back. i did'nt have to cut & buff.

5bulldog's ski looks really good. I can't remember who did it, but they are in Nicholasville. I got a quote from another guy in Lexington to paint my SJ, and he said $250. I was going to strip and sand it first. He did some work on my 4runner after somebody hit me, and it looks really good. Call Aree at 859 361 6922 if interested. You'd probably have to bring it down here for a quote though.

I just stopped by a auto paint place today to see what they would charge to just spray a hull, and I was told 150-200 if I prepped. Hope this helps.

I painted mine with $20 worth of Krylon. Prepped it well, and sanded it out with 2000grit and buffed it after it cured. 5 years later it still looks good and people cant believe it came out of a rattle can. There are some bubbles/chipping in the tray where water sat all winter (my cover isnt as watertight as I thought), but touch-ups are easy.

Never heard of krylon lasting like that. How often does that thing see daylight?

It goes out a few times a week in the summer, then spends the rest of the time under a cover. I do hand polish it every spring and wax it though.
