i'm looking for someone to install footholds in the NW. i'd have yamaslut do it but he is across the map. :notworthy:

basically looking to do kicker or rev footholds. i can take all the turf off and prep how you request. but i just dont have the experience, time, patience to get this done on my own before the sun comes out.

anyone reputable interested in doing this for side work? im in Olympia, wa, but can travel.

any help, tips, advice or a general direction to head would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

oh yeah it's a round nose

If you read about it enough on here you can prob get enough info to do it yourself... its not a hard job... just takes a little time and some itching...

Yamaslut is offering a good deal to people, but like you said... doubt he is going to want to spend the money on the ticket to fly out and help...

I dont know anyone from your area... if nobody replies--> you can go to the members list on the bar on the top of the page--> click on search on the right side of THAT screen (not the main search link)--> click advanced and search by location... you might be able to find a few people that live close to you and PM them to see if they can help...

I'm in the Tri-Cities if you REALLY want someone to do it for you.
I'd encourage you to do it yourself, but if you must, I can help out.
Got all the materials, too.

time is my issue with doing it myself. i dont think i know enough girls nor do i have enought money to keep yamaslut entertained while doing the work!

I'm a factory technician for subaru not sure if i have all the tools/type of tools needed for the job. Plus i'm really crunched on time and want it to be ready for summer. . i need to research it more on the forum.

also if i'm doing footholds, it's a 96, should i refoam and do a scupper/one way valve while i'm in there, save some work later?

you can do a scupper anytime... but if you do the holds you should refoam... and if you do all that then its prob. a good time to do the scupper too while you're at it... get hackin!

tons of good information on here to get you started... just look at the refoam/foothold threads of some people that know what their doing and follow suit... i put in some footholds in my build thread and have some pics that may help you just slightly.. but there are way more informative threads out there....

There really aren't any specialty tools required.
IMO, if you're doing footholds, you will find that you need to refoam. Once you decide to do that, you need to pay very close attention to sealing everything up right so you don't get waterlogged AGAIN soon after.
If you're thinking about wanting a scupper, that's the time to do it. Doesn't take long.

OK, i will do my research, do footholds, refoam and decide on the one way vs scupper debate then get at it.

do you guys think this is a doable project in a months time?

Absolutely. For a noob, 20-30 hours sounds appropriate (considering you have to deturf and returf)

right on i think i'll do it!

i will find all the parts lists and where to find it and what not in all the how to threads correct? just dont want to miss anything

A day!! That's probably a little optimistic. If you know what you're doing it will take a week of working every night. 20-30hrs probably isn't a bad guess.

you could do it i guarentee it if you could just keep workin away at it not haveing to let anything dry just cause you work at such a tedious pace dosent mean it cant get done ill do it just to prove my point LOL bring me your ski chad!

absolutly you could do it in a week with no prob actually could do it in a day if you didnt halfto wait for stuff to dry prop

Hogwash.
How long does a complete turf job take for someone that hasn't done it before?
Or a defoam?

What's "halfto"?

do it yourself. its a fun project. spend an hour a night and you will have it down in well under a month.

i'm also redoing the top end, so gotta have that sent out soon for machining.

having a hard time trying to gather a materials/parts list with these how to threads. seems like everyone uses something different. wish there was a "use this, it works" list. . hehe :Banane36:
