I am interested in these foot srtaps but I am worried that my feet wont slip out to easy when I need them to. I had footholds in my sxi pro but your feet are not really locked in like they would be with the straps. And where can I buy a set at?

i have straps on my b1.the idea is to not shove your foot too far into the strap,i agree that would be dangerous.just put your foot part way in so you can hold onto the ski by curling your toes.dont try to wear your ski like a flip flop:biggrin:

Thats the beauty of ski bindings, they are a proven safe foothold. They hold your toes, and even if you really jamb your feet in they will stretch.

There are times where I go for a barrel roll or a nose stab and I dont complete it that is where I would rather jump off instead of having my feet trapped. So pretty much you can make these straps out of like a tie strap or something like that? And would you want the straps to be a lose fit thenor a tight fit?

Selling all X2 and 650 parts - message me!
I like the idea of footstraps, and like all the various installations. Thing I'm concerned about is if I install them on my X2 what is the most optimum position - how far forward from the aft of the tray. That's what I'm thinking... Prof

I plan on installing mine pretty far back but that is where my feet are when I ride. I would just go out and ride for a while an keep moving your feet around until they feel comfortable and then look down and make a note of it. Then that's where I'd install the footstraps. Mine will be at the very back with just about two inches of 'flat' tray behind my heels.

Yeah you want straps! Get some Dakine Pro Forms.

You need to ride around some first to get the best place to put them.

I put mine too far foward and now I need to make some new mounts to scoop them back.

I haven't gone that big on my X2 with mine yet to give a propper analysis on them.

DSlicker, the bars are one the way. I put the Dale's Stuff in the box too. Make sure Pete gets them.

I hear lots of concern about not getting out of the straps, but let me be an example that you don't want to come out when you don't want to either. That is almost worse. This injury I've got now is because my new straps on my blaster weren't tight enough.

I just like the fact that mine stretch to fit snug, and will do the same in an emergency, hope I never put myself in that position.

I'm really torn between water ski bindings or dakine foot straps. I think that I would like the bindings more but I'm not sure the wife would, I doubt that she would use them and with the straps there she could just stand or kneel on the straps and it wouldn't be a big deal. We'll see I may wait until middle of the summer to put on straps that way she'll be more comfortable onthe ski and won't mind the straps/bindings.

Mine bitches about them, says they are just in the way and make it hard for her to get on, personally I wouldn't want to ride without them.

dakine straps ARE kind of stiff when you first get them. the first pair I got used to riding with layed perfectly flat when I wasn't in them. Now, mine stick up. I enjoy the ease of access, but they do get in the way a bit.

If things go right, I should have side sponsons (Crabbies) and the 752cc motor in by then.

Im hoping to see at least a dozen boats, or perhaps more. You really never know, but more people tend to show up than commit on here.(Pics above) We should have some great pictures from Solie and Dan C., and of course some super video footage from Barry. We could probably talk him into sending you a copy of the raw DVD if you PM me your address, I will ask him tomorrow.
