I don't have finished pictures with it all matted up, but I used just a normal mat kit and cut it so it would fit in the holds. I also put the fire extinguisher under the two straps the hold the gas tank in place. there is lots of room if you use a stock tank. Actually, it fits so nice there its almost as if it was made to fit there... I will update this page later, but for now check it out:

http://www.brapski.com/foothold550.html

That page will take it step by step. Except at the end, I kinda jump ahead because when I foamed I didn't snap pictures, and then I didn't get any when I laid down the last bit of glass... But you'll get a good idea... Any questions Let me know.

EDIT: I just linked it to this page so you can post it here if you have any questions.

EDIT AGAIN: Alright, this is a really big picture, bigger than it should be, but anyhow, this is how I got the mat kit to fit in there: http://www.brapski.com/img/pics/102006/DSCN4922.jpg

I used 3M-90 spray on, as recomended by the directions that came with my kit.

think they would except a couch pisser rigged to a spray nozzle as an extinguisher?

Hide it in the engine comparment, mabye over the battery, get a real small one.

ok this may sound cheesy but i made up my own footholds but they stick out.....i took a piece of treated wood and shaped it and had an apolster guy recover my tray pads with the under them along with paddin!! dude it looks and works great. i think it works better then any normal footholds i have ever used...no joke!!

I agree with most and say move the fire extinquisher to the engine compartment so that the cops cant bust you. I still have mine on the side compartment of my 650sx because of the cops. But if their were ever a fire, I would not even dare go for it but most likely just ditch the ski in the water.

Absolutely I would do the same but i heard that the reason you keep one in your ski is to race to another persons Flaming Ticking time bomb Put their ski out with it instead of get them and yourself away from a fire'y explosive death
Thank you for great and generous idea California Boating safety:biggthumpup:

I am a big fan of moving the extinguisher to the inside of the engine compartment and losing the storage tubes all together, but if for some reason that is not an acceptable solution you could always go for some lifters instead. I believe that's what kawasaki168 is talking about.
I have made them from the hydro-turf lifter material in the past for a friend and they have lasted for over 3 years now.
Just another option.
