5200 will hold them just fine...... that stuff is used to bond hulls together. I use to just use SMC Panel Fuser and feather it out over the joints, started using epoxy with an adheasive additave about a year ago and also overlaying with glass also..... does it need it, but why not do it and make sure it is sealed......

dont skimp........... not worth it if it fails or leaks.

In the time it took you to write that post and read these replies you could have glassed them in and been on your way.

is it mandatory? No, but if it does come lose, your gonna wish you took the 10 minutes to glass then the days defoaming.

glassing is also for fairing in the gaps. i guess you could do that with 5200 too, but how well does contact cement stick to 5200? id glass it.

if you are putting in waterdawgs, you need to use fiberglass and resin
the contours are so extreme you will have to do some molding and fabricating on the hull
but the room in these things .... I cant wait to ride this boat
