ok who has made there own straps and what did they use? i need a pair for this week end and dont want to buy a pair. i know some one used a saxophone strap what else has been done? i was thinking about using slalom ski holds.... PICS PLEASE!!!

saxophone case straps, double layered and sewn together at the edges with dental floss over plastic strips of tupperware ( to help maintain shape for ease of hookup and dropping out of).
threaded through four 3/16" slots on an 1/8" aluminum traction skidplate(smooth aluminum 1/8" plate is fine), fastened down to the tray with 32 stainless steel epoxied-in screws. holes are drilled 1" apart and 1/4" from the edges, all sides.

My buddy used to use a a looped piece of serpentine belt - tough as hell... But if you rode barefoot it would tear your foot to pieces. $20 a strap for some Dakine ProForms is well worth it in my opinion....

you will never catch me riding barefoot, anywhere. I've cut my feet too many times as a kid wading around in lakes and rivers to ever do it again.

Well just as an option. I just bought some kiteboarding straps off www.murrays.com. Go to the kiteboarding closeout section. There are pairs of straps for $20-$22 on there and shipping is reasonable.
