My first time out on the ocean with the 650sx. She worked out well until we got to where we were riding and hit some actual wave jumps, here is what insued.

I think its time for an aluminum pole. Anyone got one thats not really expensive???

actually i think my starter broke too, we took jumpers to it and it wouldnt even turn, so we couldnt even get out the salt water from the engine with the flushing kit. Will that be a bad problem/ does anyone have a starter that works for this ski?

If you can't rinse for a couple days no problem, but longterm it could be bad since your leaving salt crystals in there. Disconnect the hose from the head to the headpipe and backflush the cylinder at least, but don't flush the exhaust without the motor running or risk hydrolock. If you don't know what i'm talking about ask .

Also i was kind of thinking about shortening the pole a few inches where it broke and fiberglassing it to hell. i feel like it would help to be more over the center of gravity when jumping. any comments as to doing this compared to just getting an old stocker?

Put a round nose pole on, the stockers are fugly.

Thanks for the flushing tip, it worked out well. A round nose stocker will fit on my 650sx?

Also anyone know why my stator was clicking and not turning the engine at all?

That would be the start solonoid in the ebox, jumper the two terminals outside and see if it cranks, if not its either battery, bad cables or bad starter. Pull the plugs and see if it turns over by hand easy, if not you have some other problem.

Or pull the coupler cover and grab that. You will feel the flywheel magnets even if all things are free with the plugs out, thats normal.
