Flywheel pulling question

Can someone please tell me what the thread is on the 3 bolts that you use to hold the harmonic balancer/flywheel puller on with. I bent all mine the last time i used it on an old 550 motor and must have thrown them out, I dont feel like carrying my motor with the flywheel on it through the hardware store to find the bolts

Just go to autozone and rent the harmonic balancer puller. They have the bolts in there and it's free to rent.

They are 8mm x 1.25 bolts, just checked my puller. Good luck!

I just bought a set at lowes, in a hardened version, they are threaded the entire shaft length, vs the normal ones that have a portion that is smooth.

they are harder though, and they didnt break like the others I tried.

about $1 each at Lowes.

Pick up three grade 8 washers too. You can get 5/16" grade 8 hardened washers at Home Depot as I don't think they carry Grade 8 metric (5/16" is very close to 8mm).

I got a heavy duty harmonic balancer puller from pep boys after bending a flywheel puller trying to get mine off. The balancer pullers are MUCH stronger, and the one I got has a bearing point so it doesnt bind at the flywheel bolt.
