Florida to Kansas ~ Re "Build"

I bought this hull in Florida several years ago. Found it on Craigslist for $1600 if memory serves. It was a basket case, but complete, and included UMI steering, and a factory pipe, among other goodies. Made a trip from Kansas to Florida with my wife and son just to get it. Taking 3 skis down with me. Delivered one for Superamjet and sold my extra squarenose. Ran into a guy that had another hull and 3 motors for sale, so I brought 3 skiis back to Kansas.

I sold the stuff I didn't need or want and broken-nosed florida roundnose took up garage space for the last 5 years. I did a little repair on the nose and barterred to have the rest of the body work and turf done. Paid to have it painted and back for turf.

Finally it is now ready to be assembled.

Nothing super exciting, but it will be the newest cleanest ski I have ever owned . . .

Yes it did.

However it wasn't enough of a distraction, so I used a vertical blind to make a form to fix it.

I can't wait to see it complete myself. Might happen before the 1st!

I considered chopping it 2" but decided against that.

I used a 2" inner flapper valve from Lowes. They don't look as cool, but seem to keep the hull dryer in my experience. I also tried to lay the pvc right on the floor of the hull so as much water as possible could escape. My old hole was about an inch off the bottom and consequently there was always water in the bottom.

I moved all the lines from the pump to the bulkhead to the left side so I don't have to cross over the short shaft. The intake is still on the right on the pump side but crossed over inside the hull and comes out on the left. The tube for the trim is on the left as well.

It may be. I ordered it like 4 years ago.

And just recieved it last week.

Not really. It only took about 10 months to deliver. So I've had it for a while.

I think I'll give it at least one rip before I start fixing it.

Just a little one-up I whipped out of my patootie a few years ago.

I thought I'd over done it and made this heavy "pig", but it actually weighs less than an AC Pole. It's -4 length.

Here's a few new pics.

I'm trying a new handwarmer system, idea stolen from mossman.

Yes, Chad, it is. However, I dont need rivets with these grips, so I'll just be making some holes. Might get silly and do a ton of little bity ones.

All that stuff helps me keep balanced when I'm riding.

Oh, and I took that pic after cleaning out my tray.
