And since I'm NOT spending any money on decals...........some carefully placed Sharpie helps camoflage the dock rash. It's far from perfect but REALLY helps keep the eyes from zero-ing in on the damage.

GTI..........shakes.........spring rains...........WOOD IN THE PUMP!!
That was my thought also , a couple of years back I had one get a pine cone stuck between the blades, you couldn't see it till you removed the pump from the hull .

When I rode it it idled perfectly , took off perfectly , top speed was the same as the other ski , no weird vibes anywhere , so I just got paid to go to the lake hang out for a while and ride a couple of Seadoos.

The CDI fixed the 96 GTX, I tested mine out of my 96 on the ski as well, it worked well also , it took longer to get the storage cover off and back on that it did to fix that one.

I did that sharpie trick on the GTS last year with farbric marker pens, it needed it again this year but since the guy jewed me down on the asking price , I didn't do it, he also didn't get a cover, dock rope or the nice waterproof container the regs were in, I am petty like that, it's a character flaw but I am good with it.

Not petty at all. I do the same thing. You wanna pay less??......You're gonna get less!!!
Yep you won't get as nice of a trailer, a cover or anything else if you balk on the price with me. , I like to think that my prices are fair and the quality of these machines is excellent.

i always have a set price i want and if i don't get it i thank fully am not in need to sell these skis .... it really comes down how the nice the buyer is too, if they are cool and easy going then I am happy to lower the price somewhat ..... but on others I have been firm to a point where they left which is ok ..... as i said not my bread and butter just extra $$

My price is always set $300 over what I actually want, the GTS listed for $2300 it wasn't getting many clicks so I lowered it to $2200 then it started getting traction , it sold for $2000 , I am not sure what the significance of $300 is exactly but that is the figure I have found over the years that people want to negotiate you down to so they can make themselves feel good.

Sometimes they don't price shop and you make an extra $300 on the deal , it happened last year on a GTI I sold but it doesn't happen often.

I found this on Amazon, I cannot find it locally , it looks really close and on this ski it will be close enough , I will shoot it and see how it looks and most likely it will need to be cleared with Spraymax or some other type of clearcoat , it might be time to invest in a gallon of clear from Kirker .

A friend of mine has done a lot of Motorcycles using Duplicolor and clear and they usually turn out really nice ..

I also found this seat stencil from PWC graphics which will bring that rear seat right on back up to it's former glory, that means recover the front seat , maybe something fancy IDK, then maybe re-dye the side pads , scuff and buff the top deck and the cosmetic work is done on this one.

The green machine should hit the water tomorrow with some borrowed seats.

Someone is getting their reality check ca$hed right about now lol , he just needs to lower that price on down to $800 or $1000 and he might be in the ballpark. Originally he had it listed for $2800

what foam piece or spray foam u use to fix seats ?

those WRIII sell for $ 500 here .....
Yeah I was being generous at $1000 really $800 is about top tier here for a Waverunner lll , that one is in fairly nice condition though .

I just cup pieces of foam and glue them in place with contact cement then usually layer over the top of everything with sew foam, it has a cloth covering on one side of it that makes a really nice surface to cover over with vinyl., I use headliner glue to attach the sew foam with.

The upholstery supply place I use has all different densities of foam in stock , buy usually I just cut sections out of old seat foams , glue it shape it with a grinder and flap disc and cover over it , I have fixed some really gnarley messed up seats on these things like that .

Next time I do one I will do a write up on here.

I was digging through my box of stainless and Aluminum bracketry and found this , it goes beneath the oil tank on a TS-SS-XI-STS , it should be the perfect size to make a coil relocation plate out of , and really when I am done you will never know it didn't come that way unless you know Seadoos like I do.

It's fabbed up , I still have to break the edges and round the corners because right now it's an accident waiting to happen , most likely I will paint it black to make it disappear and maybe even add some kind of trim on the edge , in hindsight a piece of black plastic , UHMW , nylon etc , would work much better here , at least now I have a pattern if I decide to go that route.

My arm started to hurt just looking at that skinslicer 3000 sticking out there , I decided I can do much better than that last bracket , but with what , I remembered there were two Kawasaki Battery box plates laying on my dash , they are white plastic , they are fairly thick and would work great so yeah I made another one , now I just need to cut it off a bit and paint it black.

I also moved it forward just a tiny bit more .

I am Headed out early this morning to Gantt Lake to go give this ski it's shakedown run , either she goes or she blows !

This rear e-box cover is a good example of what that Penetrol can do for faded plastics , it's so faded it's almost grey , this second pic is three coats of Penetrol and one coat or Mothers LRV protectant.

When I get back from the lake and get this thing pressure washed off I am lathering Penetrol on all the black plastic and this ski has a ton of it .

I think I have the green vinyl for the seats , one thing is for sure the seats won't be copper , that just looks nasty lol.

Something like a Green front seat and a gold back seat might look ok ,most likely two green seats and paint the hood deflector black , plain ,simple, and classy , no fancy stuff .

Back from the water test , it didn't go that well , it ran good for a few minutes then it started cutting back , to me it seemed to be running lean , I thought that maybe the voltage regulator was bad , I unplugged it , nothing happened , my best guess is that the fuel pressure regulator is partially clogged up , those have a paper filter element inside and when it's stopped up , that's it, I don't think I replaced it and one has been ordered already.

The fuel gauge is not working , but that is a pretty easy fix , I have several canisters around here for parts , the maint. warning and light is flashing , I do have the programmer for this as well as all the factory fuel pressure testing equipment that I will install next time I run the ski.

The last one I ran across like this it was a fuel pressure regulator that was the culprit .

I may borrow the regulator off the other ski and go run it again, right now we are in the middle of yet another thunderstorm.

You got a link or part number for that Bosch regulator? I needed one a while back and for the life of me couldn't find any notes on which one it was! I've had coils on the RFI act like that. Also had rusty metal bits stuck to the crank sensor do that too.

I had to lower my GTX Di to 3k but sold it just a bit ago to some young guy on vacation. I told him ride it.......and call me tomorrow afternoon. If it's still running great you're on your own....if not, bring it back and I'll give you your money back. He was very pleased with that!!

Here is the place I get mine from :

I am going to swap some stuff out and try again , probably not today though , it's still raining here , I have several spare coils , I will take one with me .

I get the pumps for the RFI's and 4TECS from Carquest they fit some year of Mercury Capri, I have the numbers here somewhere , they also have the filters and best of all they always have them in stock.

Paint came in for the COPPERTONE ski, I just sprayed a section of the hood that was pretty jacked up , no prep , no nothing , I have to say it is almost an exact match and this will work perfectly for spraying the whole hood with but it will have to be cleared to get the correct amount of gloss .

Paint was $16.55 from Amazon , clear will run me another $25.91 from there so $42.46 for paint , lets just call it $60.00 with sandpaper , primer etc , not a bad price to have a hood that looks brand new .

I might even consider trying to blend this one in, who knows , it ain't happening today though.

Well either I am going to have to do some digging or buy a shop manual for an RFI , yes I have the programmer, yes I pulled the codes , the issue is they are the old 6 digit codes , not the P codes the newer stuff uses , somewhere I have a book that goes with this programmer if I can find it they may be in there .

I pulled four codes , one will always be present and tells you the pickup is not getting a signal , which it won't do unless it's running , one is a temp code that tends to go off in this part of the country when the ski is not in the water, so ignoring those two I still have two more and ATM I have no idea what they mean , I have a GTX RFI shop manual supplement on the way here , trust me very soon I will know.
