Flat Water Stab Trouble

I hit a few good ones last week but this week has been chaos. Stabs are there but not the best looking. Today I just suddenly lost my stabs for over an hour. I just kept falling off my right side(my rotating side). I finally got them back toward the end of the tank. Here is a few pics form earlier. Tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I made setup wake trying S and lesser angle L wakes. I'm making the wake turning around and hitting the first wave that pops up. I dont pre jump. I just left, throttle and right off of it. Should i be waiting for the trough and making a pre jump?

its all about the prejump and ou shoul dbe doing them left because thats the way you will eventually barrel roll.... it has to do with the rotation of the engine....or so i hear:biggrin:

rotation of the engine... hmm that sounds good to me.... I'll make sure to do them left, but that would feel better to me anyhow I think...

I do stabs both ways, but mostly right... and BR right too. Looks to me like you are not popping enough off your prejump. Hard to explain but, at least when I do them, I come out of my prejump like I am doing a sub... I get pretty high, ease the ski back into the trough of my setup wake, then in the trough I hit it hard. I am probably not explaining this very well, and you'll probably get better more clear advice from some others.

Look at your body position on the pics you are on the wrong side of the pole slowing down your rotation. Bend your body at the hips hold your head and body to the right over your bond line, this will take the weight off your ski and allow it to rotate faster.

In the first pic, I'm chest over bars and to the right. In the second pic I'm going to the opposide but now my body is flowing with the roatation. That I had 180ed to the new rotation was to the left.

i was wondering the same thing.... Hey Jessie, do peeps jump that???

Houses in the back ground are the most known and highest houses in my area. Only one person has ever went off the cliff and it wasnt on purpose. Died on impact, my dad and his friends saw it and called 911. Even though theres a cliff, its not dead water, its a 20 feet out before you hit the 45 foot depth or so.

Theres are bluffs allt he way down that river. People jump at a place called whipperwell(SP?) unsure of heights....I saw my uncle hit a bottom at a odd spot once and cut his foot from front to back and vowed never to jump.

Jesse, you definitely need the pre-jump, and I'd say you need to toss your weight further forward. Remember, throw your head so that you can take a bite out of your bondline about a foot or so back from the front of the ski! I'd recommend going back to basics, and forgetting about the set-up wake for a while: you can do a stab without one. Make a quick jink the the left and then hit the throttle and jam the bars right. Then work up to a hop to the left and a stab to the right. It's all about that little "left-right" wiggle, and throwing your weight forwards.

Yeah, it may be abou time to break it down to basics.
