I notice you said joe throws them away
i would have thought that throwing them away would be the worst thing as you are in the middle and the ski will land on you

coming from some one who cant not backflip but has a 1000 times in his head

Watch the FSN video and you'll see a few that he throws away, kinda side steps away from the ski.

Joe has learned over the years, that it is better to save yourself and the ski by throwing it away, then coming up short on BF's and hitting bottom. Their is a safe way to throw away. You take your feet out first while the ski is rotating over your head and get your feet underneith you, and then throw the ski away with your arms. This last month I kinda figured it out, and it makes backflips much easier to attempt.

Before Ross hopped on the SJ, I don't think I ever once saw him land flat. I've never seen JK land flat (maybe becuase he throws them away if that's going to happen).

I don't think it's just something to accept. They can be done with greater control. I aspire to learn that control.

well... I bet if ya ask him he would say he did quite a few...

On your waves over there, it will be much easier to time and work out... we just don't have that type of "Hero" wave like you do... We have to fight and scrape some days just to find a wave to get around on... Landing flat is a gift IMO... much better than landing straight in.

Really, I don't worry or even think about flat landings... it's just happens some times... I agree, we all should try to nose em in perfectly, but if ya think that's gonna happen, your dreaming. This sport is effected too much by nature and the elements to make every trick perfect every time... IMO
