Flap? you mean on the exhaust outlet? if so most people cut them off any way. I modded a 800sxr turn down onto mine when I had mod exhaust, Im probably gonna take it back off though since I have a limited (quieter) pipe now

Depends on how sensitive a riding area you are riding near. If noise is an issue, run the flap or turn-down. It does make them quieter. Any more, people hate noisy skis and dirtbikes everywhere. It does not effect performance on a ski. I have 8 of them and try to keep them as quiet as I can. Once you lose a riding area, it's gone forever.......fwiw
