read up on a few post and thought i'd give this a try. i started out with 1000 gritt wet sanding, then some left-over 3M's microfinishing compound from another project, 3M's Marine Finesse-it II then 3M's Marine Cleaner and wax and for kicks Meguiars Gold Glass. picked up 3M's 3" foam pad (05722) and the disc pad (05270) (Thanks, Kennay!). this is great set-up, perfect size to work with. all in all it turned out ok considering i used a cordless drill. the hardest part was the sanding, didn't (and still don't) have a clue how much or how long i was supposed to sand the area, theres like no reference point to go off of. props to those guys who do this for a living, i'd be broke for sure. pictures aren't the greatest, but you can see a little improvement.
