So I bought a moded square nose hull a couple weeks ago to throw together really quick and have an extra ski to ride around on, but of course that didn't end up happening. It was originally built by someone on here (http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/sn-re-glass-again.108143/) Everything he did was done well and has still held up. Unfortunalty the guy I got it from decided to do a widetray and really tore up the tray, but he was super cool about it and gave me all the money I needed to do the tray right.
So first here is a picture of the ski taken by the original owner and how it looked when I picked it up.
I got it home the next day and I went to glue the turf down where it was peeling up. Which is when I realized all the glass was delaminating from the gunwalls. When I bought it I knew the sides were kinda sketchy, but I was thinking I could get a season out of it before they broke off.
After all that I didn't know what I wanted to do with this ski, because I was kinda over fiberglass for awhile since I spent all winter rockering my blaster. Then I was just looking at the ski trying to figure something out and I thought I really hate the way the gunwalls look on these square noses. So I busted out the grinder and got it cutting lol.
I brought it into the shop the next week and actually welded a frame inside my tray to pour my foam into (I wish i took a picture lol). It probably wasn't the smartested Idea but it worked out pretty good.
