a protec rec head should get 180ish i believe. i would make sure the gauge is correct. make sure you are doing the test correct. do the test 10 times and take the average. try doing the test once the motor is warm.

if it still doesn't give you the number you want to see just print out a new backing for the gauge so that it now reads 180PSI.

or measure ring end gap and check to see if the domes have been modified.

I talked to Carl and he said it's most likely my HF gauge. I am going to run a tank of gas through her and try it again, and than try it with one of my dads better gauges.

That cylinder deck needs to be resurfaced to seal without an OEM style gasket.

Took the SJ out on Sunday with the new head and it really gave it some balls out of the hole! Going to test the compression on it again this weekend with another gauge.
