First superjet.. Rebuilt and ready to party

Been a bit busy and haven’t putting in the time on the ski. I have been trying to ride my dirtbike as much a possible before winter really hits, Aspen Mtn is opening up the 19th so snowboard season is on soon!
Not huge progress but getting there. I am going to use this guy technique on YouTube to remove the turf. If this seems like a bad idea let me know.

Cleaned her up with some simple green and a quick wash. I did some work on the hull with a magic eraser and was pleasantly surprised on how many black marks/crap it got off.

Some how when I installed the Blowsion front bow eye I messed up the threads so buying a new one because I destroyed the one on it getting it off.

Going with the JCracing rear bumper plate in black.. should look sharp

I got a feeling I am going to remove all graphics, OEM stickers, registration number , and get her buffed out nice.. I got a good friend that ceramic coats exotic cars and wants to ceramic coat the skis, of course I am going to give a try for the awesome price of free..

So my pole cover was spray painted white.. does anyone have a nice white one or even black because of the carbon fiber’d pole ‘21 superjet pole?

Edit it’s called the pivot cover.

You probably didn't mess up the threads on the bow eye, the threads are so fine they easily corrode and become impossible to remove after a little time. Those graphics are sooo clean I would not remove them they look soo good! Also, I'd highly recommend shortening your 21 sj pole several inches before putting it on. You will be amazed at how much it will change the handling characteristics of the ski for the better. The sweet spot I'd to have the bars lined up with rear of the hoodseal on a stock length superjet. Would also benefit getting a shortened and quick steer steering plate as well. What color turf are you going to go with?

That’s good to hear about them corroding. I bought 2, to be on the safe side in case the rear one wants to be a PIA. Actually the graphics are not that great, the iPhone really takes away a lot of the blemish’s and not to mention is has an entire piece missing behind the CL number.
I had boostMac shorten the poles but only to stock length. I am still getting used to the ski so it’s something I will need to work too imo.
I am getting a quick steering plate but probably in the spring. Just still getting comfortable on the ski. If I do so many things at the same time I really won’t feel the benefits.

Against popular opinions, I am going black turf and black rail kit in Diamond. With the slick black pole and the carbon fiber it was loosing a lot of the purple. So saying that I am buying one of the Tomski’s carbon fiber lowered pivot cover.

I attached a couple photos of a 1997 with black mat and trim kit

Getting the turf off was easy (I still need to remove 3 spots), I ended up just using a puddy knife with no torch. Then it went sideways, none, I mean none of the glue came off, lol. So I decided to give it a goo gone bath for about 6 hours and it took about 3 hours getting it to this point.. pretty stoked but definitely needs some more work.

I respect your decision, however shortening your pole is only going to make the ski ride even better. I used to think -2 was perfect… until I rode a ski with a shorter pole. You can always cut it later, but myself and others are just trying to give you honest advice to save you some time in the future. I also saw a few videos of me riding and realized how much I was leaning over the pole with my bars pressed into my waist haha

Thank you and everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. I will probably do the suggestions for sure.
I see you are from Asheville, Nc. Man what a cool area! I got to enjoy Lake Toxaway, NC last summer and I am so sold on how awesome NC is. What lake do you ride in the area?

I actually live in a small town East of Asheville called Black Mountain. But I figure most people know where Asheville is haha. My lake that I ride is about 45 minutes away and its called Lake James. Give me a shout if you are around here again!

Really stoked to get the Tomski carbon fiber pivot cover.. the pictures are awesome.
Probably early next week.
Edit: shipping Monday!! Heck yes !

Sunday funday was supposed to be for installing the turf but I am missing a piece.. for some reason I thought the kit would come with a piece when you remove the toe kick/front plastic part in the tray, I was wrong.. I am really not wanting to buy a sheet for just that piece but that may be my only option unless someone has some black diamond hydroturf square I could buy..

So instead of installing the turf I turned my focus to install the ‘21+ Superjet handlepole with Macboost carbon fiber poles and I also threw on the Blowsion billet pole bolt as well. Most of the install was not too bad until installing the Riva pole spring… That took some F words and some serious grunt but she is installed. I think it looks slick as heck and with the carbon fiber pivot cover will look even better but each to their own. I decided to remove the cross bar on the riva bars so I could install the handle bar cover correctly.
Turf for the trey and side rails still to do.
Clean up fuel lines and electrical lines
Install adjustable rev limiter CDI
Install a bunch of random Blowsion not needed parts.
Take off all the OEM stickers but not the graphics yet.

The wife purchased me a Blowsion steering system for Christmas. I was probably going another direction but she saw it in my cart among other items and bought them.. At least she is supportive of the buying dumb poop for the ski It moves the steering a good amount forward. Also it being billet it should be lighter than the steel stock set up.

I got the stock adjustable cdi installed. I went with 8500 as the rev limiter. Stoked to see how she runs in May.

The last piece of turf and the super slick @tomski carbon fiber pivot cover shipped today.
