First superjet.. Rebuilt and ready to party

Definitely a cool ski IMO.
It’s a 760 ported dual 44mm carb dry pipe Superjet. I am setting her up for 8k above sea and also to not burn down at 5K above sea level when I need to rip down valley.

Rejetted for 8k. I got a good feeling we got it close. Changed out the K&N filters to HP filters. Odi grips and a PJS finger throttle to round out the fun.

Still working on jetting, changing the pop off spring and got a more appropriate prop for 8K asl with a Solas 9/15 impeller from Jet Manic. It’s getting there and still having a lot of fun even though she isn’t perfect yet. The wife usually rides her 550sx but we only brought up the SJ.

So we ride at Rudei Reservoir outside of Aspen Colorado.. I am born and raised Alaskan, saying that our lakes our beautiful but damn we have such a special spot at Rudei but being at 8000ft above sea level it has a definite negative…. Jetting/down 24% of power due to elevation.

Well pretty thankful I wanted to change the prop… I found out why the ski was being a tough gal to get ripping right. The rear pump seal blew out… bearings are still good and thank god. So tearing down the motor to replace all 3 seals, I got super lucky some awesome jet ski bros had them in their tool box but still had to order a full engine gasket kit. I also discovered my wear ring in terrible shape, awesome jet ski bros had one for me, so I got that installed tonight and the Solas 9/15 impeller. I replaced the old flame arrestor filters adapters with the slick ones from Ada. The hits keep coming, the dry pipe had been rubbing on a motor mount bolt, rubbed a pin hole leak in the pipe, so we hammered a dent in it and will be tig welded on Sunday.
I was super lucky when we checked the piston and cylinder walls.. they look good

I did one round of cleaning the engine bay and definitely will do another try. I am replacing all fuel lines as well, cleaning up electrical and just going to make this gal best as I can…
 
On the build list it says it was ported and definitely confirmed today it was, nothing crazy but definitely cleaned up!

Well ladies and gents… I am an idiot. For some gosh darn reason I never really looked at the other piston, even the picture I posted. So some sweet new wossner piston were ordered tonight. Working through first ski mistakes but she will be ripping soon!
Honed the cylinders tonight .
V-force reeds look good.
Crank and crank bearings are good.
Dry pipe pin hole has been welded.
Porting is more than a clean up like I thought before…
