I bought my first standup for $1,000 about a month ago. Its a 650 with some after market parts on it; r&d ride plate, intake grate (don't know what type), ss impeller, aluminum handle pole, and I think there's an after market ignition system in it as well.
I took it out once and noticed a dip in the hydro turf, so I ripped it up and discovered that the hull was damaged. The guy I bought it from is good friends with my father and didn't know the hull was damaged so I wasn't too upset. It gives me a project to do anyways.
I decided to install footwells since I already had the turf ripped up. I bought footwells and turf from wamiltons along some other things that are mainly aesthetic. I should be getting my new stuff next week.
Once I fix the hull and install the footwells I'm getting the ski painted a solid color. I'm thinking yellow or silver. Which color would look better?
Is there any alternative to the rubber nose piece besides the round nose conversion on blowsion? Would hydroturf stay on the nose if I were to glue it on the hull?
I also have a Waveblaster II that I picked up for $1,000 that came loaded with RIVA parts. It has a RIVA head, RIVA 44mm dual carbs with RIVA flame arrestors, Riva dry pipe, RIVA intake grate, RIVA ride plate, primer kit, and Solas prop.
Will the 760 drop in my SJ? Will I have to get different pipes?
If so I will probably do the swap and reinforce my sj hull over winter.
