first ride of the year for my old azz

Well,

after just picking up a ski at the end of last year.......after not having been on a standup in oh......10 years or so.....and only riding it basically once for an hour or so before I bought it last year......It was so dang nice today that it hit me! I left work at @ 2:30....snatched up a couple bottles of Yamalube 2R and loaded the square up! I filled 'er up with gas, donned a shorty and my lifejacket, and dumped my sheeyat in the river. I pulled the truck up and parked it...... and what do I hear........??....??? Holy sheeeeeyat! A Barge coming down the Tennessee River! I ran back down to the ramp and fired up the square 701 with dual 38's and a B pipe and blipped my way through the no wake zone. It wasn't a weak azz barge wake.....this bad boy had some HUGE surf behind it being kicked up!!! Guess what I did?

Bwahahahahahaha! I pussed out and went waaaaay back behind the barge and hit some small rollers! Hahahahahahah! the stuff that was up near the front of the barge was definitely backflip material. I know if I would have been on my old XP or HX...I would have been seeing some SERIOUS air.:skull2: Anyway....I had a really great afternoon. I burned up a tank of gas all alone out on the river. the water wasn't bad, and I am definitely gonne be hittin it at least a couple times a week now. The ski ran flawless! I had a blast... I am so glad spring is here!!! :Banane01: I am ready to get out there with Adrian some and motivate me to learn how to do some sick stuff!

been out 5 times already this year
just waiting for this rain to blow over and the weekend to blow back in :arms:

It was great. I recall back in the day we used to fire it up around the first of April. The water is much warmer this year at this time. I am jonesin for more now!!! I am sittin outside now typing on my laptop with a beer in front of me..........This weather has been nice in Bama for the past couple weeks!

i went down there two weeks ago to do some inland fishing near gulf shores. It sucked. it was freezing and extremely windy (16-20 mph winds.) First day the high was like 67. the second morning it was 39 degrees.

I was pleasantly surprised by alabama though. I was expecting a trashy place full of dumb, mean hicks. It was the exact opposite. I guess Ky has just as bad of a reputation. but everyone was very friendly, even random strangers.

Most of us are hicks, with engineers and scientists sprinkled in here and there. Here's a link to one of the areas I work in...

You occasionally see our room on NASA Select on Cable .... Most of us only have two or 3 teeth. However, if you see a guy on tv with 4 teeth..that's me!

Oh so you're high class huh. heheh.

i have the same ski as yours and i would have probably done the same thing with that barge. Ive heard the rolling action of their waves can pull you under if ur front end goes under.
