Custom/Hybrid First Post- I'm Sure This Has Been Done Before, I'd Like To Do It

Have been shopping for a new jet boat lately but haven't been able to find what I'd like but I'm sure someone has built one like I need. Must be: all new parts, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, inboard, all aluminum hull (welded), 16'-18' length, 72" beam, 2000# max gross weight including trailer. The Honda AquaTraxF15X driveline caught my eye and the possibilty of installing it in a converted Lowe aluminum for shoreline camping. I'd be running it primarily in a river.

I think the honda pump would be the poorest choice because its steep impeller angle. Most PWC drive train are six feet long and will take up a lot of floor space. A Mercury Sportjet is very compact by comparison. I would use a modern Yamaha or Kawasaki direct drive engine and put the pump in a pod with the engine in the hull. This way you will have more floor space and better pump loading. Feeding the pump will be a major problem with a shallow draft hull.
