so here it is, my first breakage on the rn. not to bad but damn... thats a way to end the day. i had just got on the hood and began to stand up on the bond rails pulling the pole up. only the bars came up with me hitting the water and getting run over by my ski lol

the stud that was in the steering system had fallen out. wtf!

na, it didnt shear off. it really fell out. i can see the impression in the aluminum from where the stud was pressed in. now its just a gapping hole.

i still drove it at least 4 miles. pushing and pulling the bars to turn with the pole on the hood lol

had that happen on a umi...a friend drilled out the broken off stud...then tapped it and turned in a SS bolt...cut the head off bolt and good to go...

ScottS had 2 UMI studs break off within a couple weeks last season. He drilled out and used a bolt as well and will never go back.

thats what i did, works like a charm. thrashed on it today and the nut back off a little so i had to call it a day. i need to put some red lock tight on it and let it dry really well.
