SXR Fire Extinguisher Blew Up

Location
STL
I was riding sunday and my ski started to feel sluggish so I pulled it up on the beach and pulled the hood off and found that my fire extinguisher had come off and got punctured and my whole entire inside of the ski was antiqued to the maxx. There was white flour-like substance everywhere including inside my carbs, reeds, etc. I took the carbs and reeds off and cleaned them and I took a spray bottle to the rest of the inside and got it all cleaned up...

Is there anything I need to worry about or check besides what I did? The white powder obviously made it into the crank, but I have no idea how much. Any advice or suggestions for things to check would be much appreciated!

I know I wont be carrying that pointless fire extinguisher ever again lol. Of all things to break or go wrong and this happened, you cant help but laugh

run her 'till she blows. LOL.
either that or strip the motor and clean all bearings with 2-stroke oil.
replace gaskets and wrist pin bearings, put her back together and HOPE for the best!

^^^^ me too. Pull head and clyinders and expect, go from there. Might just be a light dusting you can get away with dousing it with 2 stroke gas etc and relace the 2 gaskets. But if u opened up the carb ports and saw not much then you shouldnt need to worry unless you see alot of buildup.

My extinguisher came loose last night on my ski. The top was holding a power valve open... Thank god it didn't go off. That will be the last time I ever put one of those in my ski. 50.00 fine is better than this kind of headache. Sorry to hear of your misfortune dude. Hope it works out.

Mark44 not much help there but thanks?

When I took off the intake manifold there really wasn't much powder/dust at all. I has outerwears over my air filters too so I'm hoping most of that crap never made it past the carbs

fire extinguisher guts are either sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate. the white is sodium and purple is potassium. sodium means salt. your motor just snorted a big pile of salt. not exactly what you want rusting up your motor but no worse than sinking it in the ocean. just flush the motor out and it wont do any more damage than riding surf.
