Nice job......what does it weigh? Is there a backing plate? Is the nose is reinforced, you tweek that the wrong way and it will rip the whole mounting area off. I saw a pic of that somewhere.

hard to say.

i only had to pay for the material, and the machining was a favor.

ebay block of 6061. $30-$130 depending on how lucky you are and whos getting rid of it.

curious, how many would be interested?

yeah theres going to be a back plating.

its pretty solid at 4 lbs. last thing ill ever break on my ski, if ever. i worked in kind of gussets with the inner radius and the outside looking gusset.

I'd be interested

is it CNC milled? or just regular vertical milled?

If you'd share you're drawings/measurements (if you made them) I've got access to a mill and could machine it myself.

no time to do the design work myself though - unfortunately

I would make sure to use silicone sealer to help adhere it to the hull. I have seen the mounting bolts come loose if you don't use the silicone. That is one killer looking handlepole. It looks way too expensive but its awesome big time.

looks nice man

question, have you attached the hood with those hooks yet?

reason i ask is i had to make custom hood hooks so that the notch was the right height/distance from the hood. you might have to add a spacer plate on the part that bolts to your hood. just a thought.

Mike Serlin ripped his handle pole bracket right out of the fiberglass. Well, LBE did it to Mike's boat. It's definitely possible.

The bracket looks sick, but your handlepole is your weakest link. You can put all the carbon fiber and billet aluminum in the world on that thing but it will still come loose where its riveted, thats pretty much the only place they break.

hey how should i reinforce my nose? its a squarenose. i've looked through the other "reinforcement" threads but they're all round.

the under side of a square right under the bracket its just a rectangluar mirror of the top side area then beyond that it begines to curve up or down. so i can't have a backplate larger that the base of the bracket.

do i still back plate it, and then extend the glass over the rounded areas too?

its hard to explain...
